Looks may be deceiving for this one folks. The building seems a tad older and what not but I ensure you that once you go inside this is one of the best places to get fresh or frozen fish in the city! Lots of parking up front. Friendly service within. Clear sections of frozen and fresh. Got salmon for 6 people last night and it was super good. Highly recommend going in for seafood apps or for a full salmon or trout dinner.

Always had superb fresh fish when it is available. Steelhead and Icelandic cod are a frequent purchase as are the unbelievable Argentinian wild shrimp which are a must try! The ahi tuna lightly seared are wonderful in a poke bowl! And just tried frozen swordfish which was delicious. Ok… that’s the kudos!.. now a Buyer Alert!!!! We just wanted a special treat and thought of large Scallops! We bought scallop medallions (True North)… and did not read the details on the back of the package.. thought they were fresh Back of package read… “Made in US from “Patagonia sustainable scallops“ but……… including “fish gelatin [cod, haddock, pollock]”!!! Seared and Tasted sort of like scallops but texture was mushy like pollock crab! Soooooo!!! Shoppers…..READ THE LABLE! Especially if it is frozen! Won’t make that mistake again!!! Going for the Japanese or Maritime scallops next time!

Fresh PEI oysters. First experience with Gimli Fish Market. I give 5 stars. For some reasons, I thought they would carry only lake fish, but there are various products. Delivery service was fantastic and very professional as if you were served at the restaurant. One of the oyster of two dozen was not the best condition. Regardlessly I'm happy with my experience and can't wait to try other products.
